Creating your self-hosted website with WordPress is easier than you may think. By following these seven steps you’ll be well on your way to having a custom website complete with a blog!
I highly recommend using WordPress as the platform for your website and blog simply because it is so user friendly AND reader friendly. WordPress websites offer much more than many other platforms, including (but certainly not limited to):
- SEO benefits – WordPress uses a blog code that is consistent and streamlined without excessive HTML code that Google finds very inviting for indexing. Plus, with the right setup, you can customize every page or blog post to increase the probability of getting your pages to rank higher.
- Plugins – WordPress offers such a large number of plugins to achieve just about any outcome, from social network automation to adding a calendar and everything in between. Most of the plugins are free or very reasonably priced.
- Performance – WordPress websites allow you to have hundreds of thousands of pages or blog posts on the site and the performance will not be compromised.
- Built-in blog – No need to set up a separate blog on sites like Blogger or Tumblr because a WordPress site comes with one.
These are just a few of the top reasons why WordPress has become one of the most used website platforms. I’ve been using WordPress for 3 years now and have yet to be disappointed by any of the features or performance. In addition to using WordPress for my own business website and blog, most of my client blogs are written in WordPress too!
